Don't merely ride the wish-horses, Toil! Toil! Toil!

26.1    Don't merely ride the wish-horses, Toil! Toil! Toil!
Make your own fate get slantedif you so will it

26.2    Toil hard to achieve something unique, so that
On Earth's surface, it is flaunted, if you so will it

26.3    Misfortunes are designed to test one's metal
You can remain undaunted, if you so will it

26.4     Sow joy where pain be, laughter in deserted hearts
This is how agony gets supplanted, if you so will it

26.5    When it's your habit to smile at your adversaries
Surely, you are nowhere unwanted, if you so will it

26.6    As your heart resonates with other's pain and agony
In your presence none is tormented, if you so will it

26.7    May God Will it, people lose Mitwa's track altogether
But your such a wish, be not granted, if you so will it

Keep some concern with me, don't just go away

27.1    Keep some concern with me, don't just go away
Be my rival, if you can't be a chum to me

27.2    Unlike the yester-seasons, Janam[1], this Spring
May it so happen that you come to me
[1] Mitwa addresses his beloved so

27.3    My melancholy even the Nature can not endure
Not without reason, sweet butterflies hum to me

27.4    Those were the days,  you were by my side, but now
What happened, why your emotions are numb to me

27.5     Not all are treated equally, even Fate discriminates
Happy times flirt with the world, but are rum[2] to me
            [2]  strange, peculiar, unusual

27.6     If you are my friend, be vibrant, be passionate
Fondle me joyfully, don't just succumb to me

27.7     In all seasons, my friend, you can count on Mitwa
When none else is around, you can thumb to me

Purposelessly, life kept drifting from moment to moment

25.1  Purposelessly, life kept drifting from moment to moment
And abruptly the narration of tale got finished this way

25.2  Journeying constantly kept changing its course
And the search, en route, got extinguished this way

25.3  I ever kept trying to forget you, go away
The craving for you got nourished this way

25.4  In getting defeated from you, I always won
And the victory itself got vanquished this way

25.5  Your name never came on lips, but eyes revealed
My secret well-guarded,  got published this way

25.6  Saga of my failure, they say is copy paste
My claim of originality got tarnished this way

25.7  For all your offences, poor Mitwa was blamed
Strange, but it's true, he got punished this way

Spur of the moment dumped me, long relation availed not

24.1   Spur of the moment dumped me, long relation availed not
A sudden jolt,  paved my  path of  being at large, thereafter

24.2    Her going away from me,  took time to sink in me
Was dejected awhile, emotions did not barge, thereafter

24.3    So abruptly  she left the assembly, without turning back
Eyes did moisten, but there was no discharge, thereafter

24.4   Couldn’t rise to the occasion, when it was time to act
Life tormented, feeblemindedness was the Charge, thereafter

24.5   Without being accommodated, Mitwa left for nowhere
It was to what avail, if her heart did enlarge, thereafter

At times, I am a new person, to my own self

23.1    At times, I am a new person, to my own self
I wonder, how many of me, reside within me

23.2   The messages I send, are well received, I know
Prompt  is the response, concealed remains addressee

23.3    Be it your pastime to throw challenges after challenges
O’ God, if this were your wish, why  am I not so gutsy

23.4    Whatever I am, I am not because of myself, I know
Somebody holds my hand, alongside my way, I agree

23.5      Care and caress I receive from  Him, I only can know
He may be hidden from view, but is not an absentee

23.6       Locked remains ‘Mitwa’ in his own bewilderness

When will his illusions clear, when he gets the key

( A Half-Ghazal  Penned on 05-09-2013)

Keep at least showing up, if you don't meet me

22.1     You lit up my forsaken being, last evening
Keep at least showing up, if you don't meet me

22.2      Be in my presence, would be sufficient for me
No, never will I mind, if you don't greet  me

22.3      Let there be a fair contest, in the game of wits
I will do the needful, if you don't beat me

22.4      My frailties, I know, do not merit forgiveness
Yet,  would be grateful, if you don't delete me

22.5      Pangs of love are getting unbearable 'Mitwa'
Leave me altogether, if you don't complete me

I am the seeker, I the sought, I guide my own self

21.1   I am the seeker, I the sought, I guide my own self
When Light flashes within, no use to look for Preachers

21.2   Others do watch us more keenly, than we can ourselves

This is why, to purify within myself,  I look for accusers

21.3    Heart's cravings are satiated, with one earnest listener

When I am content with you alone, why look for others

21.4    Yes. I'm content within and without, by my own self
Indeed. there's no craving left, to look for admirers

21.5    Strange are the ways of introspection, may I testify

Questions themselves dissolve, when we look for answers

21.6    I search my own faults. I also welcome accusations

I am my worst critic, yet I also look for abusers

21.7     What deficiency  you find in poor Mitwa's heart
Tell me, what prompts you to look for Others'

[Note: please appreciate, the nature of linguistic idiom and usage urged me to reverse the sequence of  Kaafia and the Radeef. In traditional Ghazals written in Persian and Urdu, Kaafia comes first, followed by the Radeef. I have attempted to reverse the sequence in order to flow smoothly in English language]

I am the wine, I the bartender, peep into my eyes

20.1      Whole of my  being, I am  ready to put at stake
You know not, how much I adore you, my love

20.2       You are hiding yourself, won’t be without purpose
There is no need why, I should explore you, my love

20.3        Many besides you, invite my attention, but then
This is no reason why, I would ignore you, my love

20.3        Saga of love can still  go on and on, forever
If you forgive, what happened before you, my love

20.4        My frailties overpower me, at times, you know
Don’t you ever think, I abhor you, my love

20.5        I am the wine, I the bartender, peep into my eyes
Finest  one distilled ever, may  I pour  you, my love

20.6        Listen to his wails, explanations n pleadings

'Mitwa' knows, no better way, to implore you, my love

  ........ Mitwa Vishwa (04-09-2013)

Alpha-n-Omega of life, are one’s own self

19.1     Alpha-n-Omega of life, are one’s own self
Gaze keeps wandering in search, to what avail?

19.2      It’s fine, one cannot read other’s  mind, beware
Ignorance  shields the painful, hidden behind the veil

19.3      Anecdote  of life, speaks only to the self, listen
This way only gets revealed, the life’s trail

19.4      Spectacle of beauty dances within, peep inside
However earnest  the search elsewhere, quest must fail

19.5      Waste not your effort in preserving pleasantries,  Mitwa

Tears flow when happy, this way also ends the tale

..........By Mitwa Vishwa

Why shouldn’t you welcome the misfortunes, you get

18.1   Why shouldn’t you welcome the misfortunes, you get
Many are propelled and driven, so would you be

18.2     Play not with love-pangs, so impatiently
See, I’m already striven, so would you be

18.3    Needle not the engraved sorrows of mind
I’m so intensely riven, so would you be

18.4    Our deeds merited the treatment, meted out
Here-now I am being given, so would you be

18.5    Rise ‘Mitwa’,  go round and see all over

If you find any forgiven, so would you be

Fill my cup, provide me some more

17.1     Platform of life celebrates the on-going saga
Put on your shoes, invites the dancing
 floor

17.2    Locked am I, in my own cage, bewildered
Provide me the key, show me the
 door

17.3    In turbulent waters, my oars support me not
Time to encash your promise, distant is the shore

17.4    Cup remains insatiate, bounties abound  avail not

Which lure remains yet, kept for me in
 store

17.5    Play with the body, and be done with it
Preach not O Father, so says the
 whore

17.6   Your coming, I await, without phone, SMS or promise
May be bizarre for you, it’s my love
 hard-core

17.7    There is time still for the dawn, O Mitwa
Fill my cup, provide me some

Let’s live this moment, to make life complete again

16.1  Traveler  you are, and  wanderer  I am
May it so happen, that we meet again

16.2  Pains and hurts caused  are fresh in my mind, yet
Come, stay with me, if only to cheat again

16.3  Yes, in this ephemeral world, love is the only constant
Come, drench me, before you are light on feet again

16.4  You know as I do,  that a moment becomes eternity
Let’s  live this moment, to make life complete again

16.5  Wake up O’ ‘Mitwa’, abandoning your indolence
Avail,  for this opportunity may not tweet again

In the evening of coupling, remind me not of my condition

15.1 In the evening of coupling,
remind me not of my condition
Allow me to escape for a while,
from my own self, my dear

15.2 I was looking for some comfort,
                                        in your union, nothing more
Loads of woes, I will carry back,
merely put it on shelf, my dear

15.3 There should be some comfort
                                        for Mitwa, even if shortlived
If there is none else, let it be
                                          mischievous Elf [1], my dear

Worries of beloved are not my sole concern

14.1  Worries of beloved are not my sole concern
For,  I have to worry for morrow, as well

14.2   Nature's fury is notoriously destructive
I need protection against its blow, as well

14.3  It's not for nothing, I am enchanted by her
Infectious is her chirping, and her glow, as well

14.4   Spent life in mundane pursuits, when I die
Tell me, shall I carry my cargo, as well

14.5    Yes, madman's creation carries no conviction
Packaging is unimpressive n contents hollow, as well

14.6    When you find time, my friend, do listen
To Mitwa's mesmerizing words n the echo, as well

Go ahead with your next love, O my dear

13.1  Go ahead with your next love, O my dear
Chapter of our relationship, I will close, somehow

13.2   I am overwhelmed by my present condition
Yet, I could manage a smiling pose, somehow

13.3  Pathos aplenty got replenished time n again
Shattered heart could manage the overdose, somehow

13.4  Is it for nothing, the two are always together
Take care of the thorns n preserve the rose, somehow

13.5 Don't make promises, which you can't keep
Mitwa will manage his sorrows, somehow

Dooms day, I have heard of

Dooms day, I have heard of

12.1 Dooms day, I have heard of
Why am I restless, whole night

12.2  Moments of coupling were spent
         In discussion tasteless, whole night

12.3  Nudity must be daintily presented
         Tolerated overtures shameless, whole night

12.4  Illusion within illusion tormented
         Dreams floated aimless, whole night

12.5 I say, 'Mitwa' has gone mad
        Witnessed his madness, whole night

(02-03-2017)    (By Mitwa Vishwa)

Winked a beautiful face with flickering smile last night

Winked a beautiful face with flickering smile last night

11.1 Winked a beautiful face with flickering smile last night
My heart kept throbbing with love's alpha[1], last night

11.2 Wandering of the heart kept me disturbed whole night
Twisting, tossing and turning required a SPA, last night

11.3  Childhood memories of tender caring of wrinkled hands
Tears rolled on, kept on remembering grandma, last night

11.4  A wailing Shriek pierced through the entire atmosphere
Ears kept ringing with silent brouhaha[2], last night

11.5 Cauldron  of  loneliness does not spare any soul
Long forgotten memories inflamed Mitwa, last night

[1]   Alpha =  First letter of  Greek alphabet; beginning]; love's alpha = beginning of  love
[2]   brouhaha =  a noisy and overexcited reaction or response to something.

You're by my side, no need of wine, for sure

You're by my side, no need of wine, for sure

10.1 Season of love  has come showering flowers
You're by my side, no need of wine, for sure

10.2  These dripping ringlets on your bare shoulders
Oozing drops are sweeter than wine, for sure

10.3  Keep allowing me to drink through your eyes
I won't ever need any other wine, for sure

10.4  If it be possible to reach God through harem
Path via your doorstep would be mine, for sure

10.5  Your caressing has healed my agonizing wounds
Whose mercy could be more benign, for sure

10.6   Just remembered, it was your memory, nothing else
What more could be needed to combine, for sure

10.7     Volcano of desires may erupt any moment
Keep Mitwa's passions in confine, for sure

Before our discord waxes hot, let us make truce

Before our discord waxes hot, let us make truce

9.1    Before our discord waxes hot, let us make truce
Neither you nor I know, where the moment will take

9.2    Longing awaits as ever, in anticipation, keep vigil
Whence the relationship begins, how it will break

9.3    Divinity springs from within, when the Grace descends
Neither there are any pretensions, nor I will fake

9.4    Turbulence of mind keeps me in disquiet, otherwise
I slumber inebriated in wine of lust, who will wake

9.5    Keep your sufferings to yourself Mitwa, don't reveal
Neither heavens will tremble, nor the earth will shake

(Another half-Ghazal: with Kafia and without Radeef)

(By Mitwa Vishwa)

Limitless am I, yet remained ever confined

Limitless am I, yet remained ever confined

8.1    Limitless am I, yet remained ever confined
Alas! I could understand the trappings of mind

8.2    In broad day-light, I kept groping in dark
How far can take, the vistas of blind

8.3    Heart throbs for two, call it not cheating
Locking love in fidelity,  passion of unrefined

8.4    Understood patterns do reveal, but a fragment
Who can fathom, the dimensions of un-designed

8.5     Don't know why, Mitwa keeps waiting for you
There is no promise, nor any assurance of kind

(Mitwa calls this a Half-Ghazal, because Kaafia is there, but Radeef  is  missing. However, it has beauty of its own)

(By Mitwa Vishwa)
